Gurgaon, December 31, 2013: The Police of this IT City has joined hands with India’s first Managed Security Company SMART24X7, to bring high tech security to women, children, young adults and senior citizens.

Alok Mittal, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon launched “Smart24X7 Mobile Panic Button”, an application designed to help citizens call for help during emergencies. It helps you to connect with your reliable contacts and Gurgaon Police automatically whenever you find yourself in trouble or need to find help for someone around you.

It helps users trigger a panic alarm and send his/her current location status to Police and chosen family & friends for immediate help just at the press of a button. It also allows the user to send multiple messages, images, videos, sound bytes to his/her near and dear ones automatically alerting them of the crisis situation.
There have been many Panic Button apps launched this year -- but most of them can only connect to one's friends or relatives. This seems to be the first where the local Police has come on board.
Says Mittal: “This is a unique approach towards strengthening existing protection. Considering the rise in crimes, anxiety, stress & violence in our day to day lives, this initiative has been taken to simplify communication when the user is in distress and allow individuals to communicate with Gurgaon Police and their Family, Employers or Doctors in an easy and decisive manner during a crisis.”
Adds CP Singh, Founder & Chief Mentor, Smart Group: “We believe that this technology will prove to be of great help in curbing issues like assaults on women, ragging in colleges, medical emergencies, road accidents, any personal security threat and so on. The application has been designed for Android platform which allows you to store five contact numbers. During any crisis, this app sends an SMS notification to all the primary contact numbers as well as Network Operation Centre (NOC). All you need to do is press the panic button on your phone, which is settled in advance during installation. Our application allows you to call for police, medical and fire support during any such emergency. "
