US home improvement company Lowe's, expands its  Bangalore  presence with a 2nd centre

There have been a flurry of recent announcements by global tech companies opening development and work centres in India
Bangalore, April 1, , 2022:  Lowe’s India, the global capability centre for Lowe’s Companies, Inc., has announced plans to open another office in Bangalore in April.
Combined with Lowe’s existing office in Manyata Embassy Business Park, the new facility on Lavelle Road in Bangalore’s  central business district will provide approximately 14,000 square feet of additional space to support Lowe’s India’s growing workforce and continued hybrid workforce strategy.
 “Since the onset of the pandemic, we have seen increased demand from our customers across all selling channels, and we continue to invest in our omni-channel capabilities as we accelerate our online business and drive momentum with our Total Home Strategy,” said Seemantini Godbole, Lowe’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “This expansion of our India operations will enable our teams to continue to grow and provide unique capabilities across our engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, product management, merchandising, supply chain, marketing, finance and accounting functions, and more. The India team has been pivotal in building and rolling out key tech solutions and business capabilities that have driven Lowe’s growth and helping us provide excellent customer service.”
Lowe’s India’s associate count has grown 60 percent during the pandemic to more than 3,600 employees across both technology and business services roles. The company expects to continue to grow the Bengaluru workforce to support Lowe’s ongoing business transformation in the U.S. and Canada.
