Bangalore, April 17, 2014: Scottsdale (Arizona, US)-headquartered global leader in supply chain, manufacturing and retail solutions, JDA Software has housed its Bangalore Centre of Excellence (CoE) in a brand new facility, making this its largest development centre world-wide.
Inaugurating the new 300,000 square metre facility that will soon be home to 2000 associates, JDA's CEO Hamish Brewer said the Bangalore CoE was a key element of JDA's growth strategy. “It enables JDA to extend its capabilities in the areas of product development, services, support and technology, thereby providing an enhanced customer experience”, he added, " Thanks to the innovation flowing from our centres in Bangalore and Hyderabad , JDA is the first company with this depth and breadth on the Cloud in the Supply Chain space."
JDA Software Group Chairman Baljit S. Dail who represents the principal investor, New Mountain Capital, added that after the merger with RedPrairie last year, the combined entity was now a one billion dollar company. Gartner has rated JDA a leader in all three areas of their chosen arena -- Supply Chain planning, warehouse management and transportation.
Salil Joshi, Managing Director , JDA Software, India, explained that the India operation of the company would be an " an integrated, customer focused, associate centric, global supply chain center of excellence delivering unparalleled value to customers through continuous innovation and best-in-class quality". The facility holds the eco-friendly LEED Gold certified status, in sync with JDA’s ‘Going Green’ mission.
In India, JDA grew and more than doubled its presence here with the 2006 acquisition of Manugistics and the 2010 acquisition of i2, Joshi added.
India contributed over 70 percent of JDA's R&D effort; 45 percent of its consultant strength and 90 percent of its cloud operations, other JDA officials explained on the side lines of the formal inaugural events on April 15.
